I’m new to diving, how do I start?

We provide the training you need to get you diving. All training is overseen by qualified instructors. Contact Kevin and arrange to come along to the Club House to meet the Instructors and other Club members. Pool training is at Billingham on Monday evenings. Equipment for pool training is provided. Just try it!

Fancy a Try-Dive? You can buy vouchers for £10 for a try-dive. If you then join the club as a result of the try-dive, £7.50 will be deducted from the first year’s membership fee.

Once you’ve qualified to dive in open water, you get to go on Dive trips locally and afar. We keep the boat costs to a minimum.

And there’s more…

You get further training and support with great company and a group of people who enjoy interesting and exciting safe diving from novice through to using rebreathers. You can enjoy a great social life with people who share your interest. The Club meets socially every Thursday and diving takes place, in the season, on Thursdays, Sundays and Tuesdays as well as other times during the week.
We dive locally (on wrecks and reefs) and afar, with dive sites ranging from the Farne Islands, St Abbs, Oban, Clyde, Scapa, south west, and all points abroad. We own the “SS Ocean”, torpedoed in 1915, now covered in a mass of anemones, a spectacular dive!

What’s out there?

A surprising amount of colourful and interesting fish and crustaceans and loads of ship wrecks abound in the sea off our coast.
